OCAP/Video Systems Engineer (Atlanta)
Employment Status: Statement of Work 6month + Contract
Compensation: Negotiable
We are looking for an OCAP/Video Systems Engineer to work for a Fortune 100 company. The candidate must have substantial experience in OCAP/Tru2way, embedded software, JAVA, Linux drivers, kernel mode development, and black box testing.
Description:
Become an integral part of the Video Technology Group – installing, configuring, integrating, evaluating, and deploying interactive television-based services, systems, and applications. You will work closely with other integration engineers, systems engineers, project managers, and QA engineers in a system evaluation, integration, and product development environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- An excellent understanding of core digital video networks as it relates to cable concepts such as RF concepts, IP networks, and digital video transport, headend equipment and digital set top boxes (DSTBs). – Perform systems integration, end to end testing, and deployment of applications, systems, and tools in support of interactive television – Work in the engineering labs in conjunction with other engineers to install, administer, and maintain fully functional test bed environments – Create test plans and conduct end to end testing of iTV platforms, systems, and software – Create detailed test reports and analyses of applications and systems – Other projects related to OCAP, Tru2way, OpenCable, and iTV infrastructure – Learn new technologies and systems quickly – Help develop and then adhere to schedules
Required Qualifications:
1. BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or substantial industry experience
2. 3 plus years experience in embedded systems engineering and integration
4. Strong knowledge of programming Linux kernel mode driver.
5. Experience developing OCAP, Tru2way, and other iTV middleware
6. Strong knowledge of network standards: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, FTP, etc.
7. Strong knowledge of digital cable network topologies
8. Strong knowledge of Java or C/C++
9. Experience with RF installations
10. Outstanding troubleshooting and debugging skills
11. Excellent verbal, written, and “whiteboard” communication skills
12. Strong project management skills, sense of project ownership, and self-motivation
This is a 6 month Statement of Work contract. It could be extended indefinitely.
