Time Warner Cable joins four other US ITV companies in publishing their EBIF User Agent specs - freely available on OEDN.net
New York, NY – Jan 13, 2008 - OEDN (The OCAP/EBIF Developer Network) announced today that Time Warner Cable has joined with other US ITV companies in publishing their Enhanced Television Binary Interchange Format (or “EBIF”) User Agent specifications to the OEDN.net website, for free download to the ITV developer community.
(For more information on EBIF User Agents, see Leslie Ellis’ recent article “Translation Please: Meet the EBIF User Agent” in Multichannel News, 12/13/2008 http://www.multichannel.com/article/CA6622359.html?nid=4682&source=title&rid=5752230 )
Time Warner Cable’s participation brings to a total of five (5) EBIF User Agent makers (including TV Works, Biap, Zodiac and Digeo) - that are working with OEDN to broadly disseminate knowledge of what is required to build EBIF applications for multiple types of User Agents.
Interested ITV developers now have a one-stop destination to get the latest information on both the differences and similarities of each UA maker’s interpretation of the CableLabs EBIF spec, found here: http://www.cablelabs.com/specifications/OC-GL-ETV-OG-V01-060714.pdf
Developers who are registered members of the OEDN.net website can both view the specs online, and download the latest overview spreadsheet with all the aforementioned ITV vendor specs for their individual EBIF UAs.
